PHOTOGRAPHERS ASSOCIATION SET TO PARTNER OGUN GOVERNMENT IN FIGHTING UNEMPLOYMENT, FLUSH OUT SCAVENGER PHOTOGRAPHERS FROM INDUSTRY
The Association boss noted that unemployment is a major problem for Governments, noting that to solve it, vocational trainers should be involved, emphasising,”to actually tackle this problem on unemployment, this question can best be answered by Governors’
He added, ‘because unemployment is a physical problem for Governors but if they know they want to tackle it, vocational trainers like us should be invited so that we will know what we are supposed to do in breaching unemployment”.
Penpushing further reports that, Obileye while speaking on the purpose of celebration, said that is being celebrated worldwide and not limited to Ogun State only, explaining, “what we are celebrating today is not limited to Ogun State alone, it’s being celebrated worldwide. That is the reason it was tagged ‘World Photography Day’.
“It is being celebrated all over the world on this day 19th of August. This day is set aside for photographers all over the world to organize seminars, educate and get ourselves more informed. As you know, we are in the world of technology, no one wants to be left behind, this is why we have to get close our people update and motivate them,” he said.
Penpushing also reports that while stating the challenges of the profession, the Photographers State President, said “Let us look at the economic situation of the country. If you want to buy a very good camera now, you have to buy at least N90,000, even some are sold at N1,000,000, that is why you see the trainees going back to ride bikes and the rest’.
The President added, “another is that, we have so many scavenger photographers, ruffians. They go to parties to harass people, they snap without been told to do so and they begin to fight around”.
