Peoples Democratic Party woos Daniel, Amosun back to party
The Peoples Democratic Party(PDP), Ogun State Chapter on Friday wooed two former Governors of the state, Otunba Gbenga Daniel and Senator Ibikunle Amosun to decamp from their party, All Progressives Congress(APC) and join Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)P
Penpushing reports that, the Governorship candidate of the opposition party, Ladi Adebutu made the advances to the duo, while speaking at the occasion of the returning of number of the party members back from the fold held at state headquarters of the party along presidential boulevard Abeokuta.
The Governorship candidate alongside his Deputy Hon Adekunle Akinlade, as well as Chairman of the party Hon Sikirulai Ogundele and other bigwigs of the party, also welcome number of members of Allied Peoples Movement(APM), African Democratic Congress(ADC) into the party at the ceremony.
Penpushing further reports that, Adebutu recalled that both Daniel and Amosun were members of the Peoples Democratic Party (APC) from onset before their defection to All Progressives Congress(APC), emphasising that it is right time for them to return, expressing optimism that Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) will take over power come 2023.
The candidate said on behalf of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP), hes begging the former Governors to put behind them what might be their grievances against the party that informed their decisions to quit and pitch tent with All Progressives Congress(APC), stressing that there is a brighter future for the party to take over the state in next political dispensation
Penpushing also reports that, Adebutu eulogized the administrations of Daniel and Amosun, adding that while in power they did their best, noting that if voted into power, he would also do his best for the upliftmment of the state to greater height, boasting that he would accelerate the socioeconomic development of the state within four years.
“Daniel and Amosun are our bosses. They ruled the state and did their best. I want to appeal to them, anywhere and anyhow we have err, please forgive us, you are founding fathers of PDP, we want you to return home. PDP is your home, and this is more appropriate time to return. I am optismtic that Peoples Democratic Party is going to take over reign of power from 2023”, Adebutu emphasized
Penpushing reports that, Adebutu called on eligible voters to ensure they have Permanent Voter Cards(PVC) and use it wisely to ease out the ruling All Progressives Congress(APC) from government, stressing that the road is now clear for the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) to take over the power lost over a decade ago
