‘The workshop will be carried out in two days. It will be characterized by training session on CORAL project, child protection, child migration and mobility. There will also be group work on CORAL advocacy and communication plan as well as how the planned Network of Journalists for Child Protection can be functional’, the statement reads.
The specific objectives include; Improve participants’ knowledge on CORAL project, share the advocacy and communication plan of CORAL project with the participants, gain the attention of media organization to develop topics around the protection of migrant children, improve participants’ knowledge on child migration, child mobility, child rights and the Protective Accompaniment of Children and create a Network of Journalist for Child Protection.
The statement further added that, participants are drawn fromvarious media houses such as Television Stations, Radio Stations, Print Media (Newspapers) and Online News platforms, adding that the session will include; role of journalists in child protection and child migration, as well as presentation on the protective accompaniment of children and group work on how Journalists for Child Protection and Advocacy Network (JOCPAN) can strive in Nigeria
