Penpushing member, Nafiu Aigoro gloriously bows out as Ogun State Head of Service

A frontline member of Penpushing platform, Dr Nafiu Aigoro on Tuesday gloriously bowed from the Ogun State Civil Service as the Head of Service having attained age 60

Penpushing reports that Aigoro successful outing from the service was celebrated by the state government led by Governor Dapo Abiodun at a ceremony held at the Arcade ground located within the Secretariat at Oke-Mosan Abeokuta.

The immediate past Head of Service was the first Medical Doctor and a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon to attain the exalted position as the 18th Head of Service of Ogun State, having rose through the ranks and completed his tenure having spent sixteen months

Penpushing further reports that number of testimonials about Aigoro were presented at the venue from number of guests which include Permanent Secretaries who worked with him during his during his sixteen months old tenure.

The Permanent Secretary, Bureau of Political Affairs and Administration, Office of the Governor, Mr Kehinde Onasanya in his testimony described Aigoro as a consummate administrator with very rich academic and professional background which impacted positively on the civil service.

Penpushing also reports that Onasanya noted that Aigoro was able to leverage of the sterling qualities of a medical personnel which include, due diligence, compassion and thoroughness to stabilise the civil service pointing out that he was a team player per excellence by always consulting widely in critical decision making process which achieved great results.

“Dr Aigoro was a quintessential personality and a forerunner to many Civil Servants. He was humble, kind and result oriented. He had cordial relationship with the unions which provided the required stability peace and progress in the service”, Onasanya emphasized

“I wish to thank Your Excellency for giving him the opportunity to serve, you are a worker friendly Governor and your government is highly focused, responsible and delivering the dividend of democracy to every segment of the society in an equitable and inclusive manner”, he added.

Penpushing reports that in her testimony, Bose Ogunleye, Permanent Secretary Ministry of Education said the outgone Head of Service throughout his tenure was known to operate open door policy, and was a wonderful boss and articulated competent surgeon.

The Permanent Secretary added that Aigoro was passionate about the service as well as showed concern and commitment on the health of civil servants even as a sitting number one civil servant in the state.

Penpushing reports that in his own contributions Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Health, Dr Kayode Oladeinde described the retired Head of Service as an astute administrator, adding that as a senior colleague in the medical profession he learnt a lot from him that contributed to his positive growth in the medical profession.

‘He is an astute administrator. I learnt many things from him in the medical profession. He has solid relationship with patients as a medical doctor. He is a balanced Doctor who relates with patients with compassion”, Oladeinde stated.

Penpushing further reports that the Information Officer who worked with the immediate past Head of Service, Omolara Osinbajo in her own remarks said Aigoro was a resourceful person, who operated open door policy while in office, and known to be unbiased in his judgment as well as a good mentor

The retired Head of Service in response expressed appreciation to God for gift of life, sound health and endless guidance throughout his career, and equally thanked Governor Dapo Abiodun and the entire civil servants for their support and encouragement to ensure his success and safe landing

Penpushing also reports that Governor Dapo Abiodun in his speech said the ceremony was special to honour the immediate past Head of Service, describing him as a calm and focused as well as a selfless, dependable administrator.

The Governor pointed out that the ceremony was his first official assignment after winning elections for his second term in office, adding that it was a joyous moment for him, and pledged that his administration will remain committed to welfare of the civil servants in the state.

Penpushing reports that Abiodun said with retirement of Aigoro he has become member of club of elderstatemen, adding that he is worthy ambassador of Ogun State
