Penpushing member elected board member Transition Monitoring Group
A notable member of Penpushing platform, Sina Adefolahan has been elected as board member of the Transition Monitoring Group(TMG)representing the group in South=West of Nigeria.
Penpushing reports that, the election took place at the group’s Annual General meeting (AGM) that took place on Thursday, August,26, 2021 at Zeus Hotel, Mabushi ,Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory(FCT)
The other members elected into the Board included: Ms. Mirian Menkiti, (Vice Chair),Mr. Tijani Abdulkareem (Treasurer),Ms. Ekaete Judith Umoh,(Representing Persons with disabilities) ,Mr. Tayo Akinpelu,(Representing the Youth) and Dr. Abdu-Azis Bako, (North Central Coordinator)
Penpushing further that they also include: Sylvester Okoduwa, (South South Coordinator),Dr. Joseph Gimba,( North East Coordinator),Pastor Gabriel Odom,( South East) and Hajia Fatima Mohammed Umar,(North West)
The Transition Monitoring Group (TMG), as the flagship of election observation in Nigeria, played a pivotal role in ensuring civic participation by mobilizing citizens during the Nigeria’s transition program conducted by the then Military regime of General Abdusalami Abubakar between 1998 and 1999.
Penpushing also reports that, since then, the group has consistently engaged the electoral process in ensuring transparency, accountability and credibility of the process by sensitizing and observing every strand of election in Nigeria.
