Penpushing Media donates rice, cooking oil to stella obasanjo children’s home, as part of corporate social responsibility
The Management and Editorial Board of Penpushing Media, owner of online newspaper and television on Friday donated a bag of rice and a pack of cooking oil to Stella Obasanjo Children’s Home located in Government Reservation Area (GRA), Ibara, Abeokuta, Ogun State Capital.
Penpushing reports that the gestures which was part of the corporate social responsibility of the media outlet was handed over to the officials of the home, with further pledge of making it a continuous project of the organization.
The team led by Founder of the Penpushing Media, Prince Dimeji Kayode-Adedeji arrived the home at about 3.00pm and received by the staffers of the Stella Obasanjo Children’s Home led by the Director Social Welfare, Mrs Florence Osu
Penpushing further reports that the founder said at the presentation that the donation was considered necessary in view of the food shortage being experienced in the country, as the innocent children are not left out in the worrisome development, explaining that decision for the donation was reached by the management and committee of 6th annual anniversary lecture
The founder explained that when Penpushing Media was established over six years ago, one of the policies of the organization aside from story writing include focusing on the plight of the needy in the country and to contribute in proffering solutions to such plights.
‘’When Penpushing Media started operations, we look back at journalism practice which include writing story concerning the less privileged and making it known to the public, and we also thought that just writing news about them should not just be the end of story’’, he said
‘We therefore thought on the need that we should also go beyond news writing, and contribute our quota towards proffering solutions and bring succour to them, hence, we resolved that as part of our corporate social responsibility, we should start extending hands of support to the needy in the society’
Penpushing also reports that he explained that one of the gestures before the visit to the home was sponsoring education of some of the less privileged, as well as empowering them for better life in their future, assuring that the organization would extend the exercise to other individuals, prisons and other establishments
The Social Welfare Officer of the Ministry of Women Affairs in her remarks expressed appreciation to Penpushing Media on behalf of the Ogun State Government on the gesture and prayed for the success of the organisation
Penpushing reports that she pointed out that the support from the media outlet was commendable, adding that looking beyond just writing news was a great initiative and laudable policy of the Penpushing Media, adding that the continuity of the project would also motivate other media outfits to emulate
