Governors Forum Meeting: Penpushing Media encourages Nigerian Governors to submit themselves for coronavirus test

Penpushing media with stakeholders across the globe has called on Nigerian Governors who attended their forum meeting recently to self-isolate and subject themselves for coronavirus test, in their own interest and that of the governed.

Penpushing reports that, the advice was contained in a statement by the editorial board and signed by founder Prince Dimeji  Kayode-Adedeji, stating that, the Governors should exhibit leadership  quality  by undergoing the test, in view of the ravaging deadly disease which is contacted through close contact among people particularly those already infected.

The statement pointed out that, it was no more news that, as at the time of the press release, two Governors, Nasir  El-Rufai (Kaduna State) and Bala Mohammed(Bauchi State) had tested positive to the virus, while their Oyo State counterpart, Engr Seyi Makinde was already in self-isolation to determine his status.

Penpushing further in the statement said, the virus as a non-respecter of any status in the society, highlighted the need for the Governors, having mingled together at the meeting to show up for the test, without any further delay

‘Following the recent Governors forum meeting, and having mingled together at the meeting, it is our view that all those Governors who attended the meeting should submit themselves for the coronavirus test,  in view of the fact that close contact by individual remain one of the source of contact of the disease’, the statement said

‘It is also on record that two of the Governors already tested positive, while another one is currently in self-isolation to determine his status, after the meeting, raising suspicion that, the two affected Governors might have become victims as a result of the meeting’, the statement emphasied,

The statement also urged  the Governors to equally encourage their cabinet members to  follow suit, having returned to their various states after the meeting, and might have likely held State Executive Council meeting with them, which might  also portend danger following interactions with them on return and consequently escalate the spread of the disease.
