Oyo State Journalists pray for Governor Makinde, other patients with coronavirus

The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Oyo State Council has written a letter of prayers for quick and sound recovery to the State Governor Engr Seyi Makinde who was on Monday confirmed of contacting the ravaging Coronavirus.
Penpushing reports that the union in a statement on Tuesday jointly signed by its Chairman, Ademola Babalola and Secretary, Sola Oladapo also prayed for other victims of the virus all and also urged people to pray fervently for them.
“We sympathise with all those infected including the governor and pray for their speedy recovery. To us, being infected is not a death sentence when detected and properly attended to,” the statement said.
The union however called on the people of the state to adhere strictly to all guidelines reeled out by health professionals and comply with government directives, which include social distancing, regular hands washing and use of hand sanitizers.
Penpushing further reports that, the journalists called on those who have had contacts with those infected to self-isolate towards confirming their status.
