Oyo State Government approves six months maternity leave for pregnant workers

The Oyo State government has approved six months maternity leave for its workers across the state, adding that the well being of its workers is paramount

Penpushing reports that, the Commissioner for Information, Culture, and Tourism, Dr. Wasiu Olatubosun disclosed this while briefing journalists after the State Executive Council meeting held on Tuesday at the Governor;s office,  Agodi, Ibadan

“We deliberated on the reviewed on the maternity leave for the pregnant and nursing mothers in the civil and public service in Oyo State. We adopted World Health Organisation (WHO) recommendation on exclusive breast feeding’

‘The leave will start four weeks before their delivery, and this applied to only female employees of the state civil and public service workers only. The Information Commissioner explained to journalists
