OYO GOVERNMENT APPROVES PROMOTION OF PRIMARY SCHOOL TEACHERS

Earlier in his remark, the Chairman Nigeria Union of Teachers(NUT), Oyo State Chapter, Comrade Adedoyin Samson said that the event is an annual anniversary in commemorating the declaration of the a United Nations (UN) which arises from the recommendation of the ILO/UNESCO in 1966 concerning the status of Teachers

Hear him ‘I appreciate the Oyo State Government particularly the Oyo State Ministry of Education, Science and Technology by declaring today a work free day for teachers of Oyo State to join their colleagues all over the world on this annual celebration of this year World Teachers Day’

Comrade Adedoyin stressed further that his year world Teachers’ Day Celebration theme: “the right to education means the right to a qualified teachers” suggest that education is a constitutional right of every child as coded in  the United Nations Education Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) and entrench in the Nigeria Universal Basic Education law

He urged Nigerians to rise to the rescue by providing the necessary in support of TRCN to forestall recruitment of qualified teachers in Oyo State education system, noting that education all over the world remain an investment in the future of individual and of the societies,

“The importance of education is more widely recognised today than ever before, but those who play the central role in providing it, it means teachers all over the world must be competent and qualify, no nation can develop greater than the quality of its teachers and teachers deserve appropriate recognition, remuneration and rewards corresponding to their humanitarian device”

He however appeal to Oyo State Government to reinstate Teachers who were involved in one allegation or the other but have been cleared of those allegations by the various committee of the Government and also the confirmation of Acting Permanent Secretary of Oyo State Ministry of Education and Acting Permanent Secretary of Teaching Service Commission to substantive Permanent Secretary respectively
