Osun state government commends old students for upgrading Methodist high school ilesa
The Osun State Government has commended the old students association of Methodist High School, located in Ilesa for their noble contribution towards the renovation and development of the School.
Penpushing reports that, the commendation letter routed through the Ministry of Education to the leadership of the old students, also acknowledged on-going projects such as the construction of Astronomy observatory and knowledge centre, E Library and modern table tennis among others.
The letter identified number of the completed projects as include: construction of new ultra modern gate house, re-roofing of 42 classrooms including replacement of windows, doors, painting and flooring of classrooms and refurbishment of physics and chemistry laboratories
Penpushing further reports that, other listed projects are: complete upgrade and modernization of Home Economics Laboratory, construction of olympics size basketball court, reactivation of water supply system through a deep well and network of pipes and renovation of the Principal’s office, including the construction of a car park for the Principal
The list also include: refurbishment of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) lodge, construction of new block of ten toilets for the staff and the students, sponsorship of 2016 and 2018 inter house sports, donation of Computers and renovation of school fences among others.
Penpushing also reports that, the National President of the Old Students’ Association, Engr. Dideolu Falobi while speaking with journalists disclosed that the success was made possible by the collective will of all the old students in Nigeria and in the diaspora.
The leader of the old students explained that, the school which was founded by the Methodist Mission in 1956 was a centre of knowledge in the old western region with a reputation for excellence in body and spirit.
Penpushing reports that, the renowned Engineer listed Professors, Professionals, Educationists and Public administrators among the old students, adding that the body appreciates the acknowledgment of their efforts by the Osun State Government.
The President emphasized that; the commendation from the government will serve as motivation for the old students as they prepare for the schools’ 65th founder’s day Celebrations scheduled for January 26, 2021.
