Osile Oke-Ona, Oba Adedapo Tejuoso donates 36 years salary for use of needy

The traditional ruler of Oke-Ona in Egbaland, Oba Adedapo Tejuoso has converted his 36 years salary from the Ogun State Government for the benefits of the needy under a foundation which dispensed the funds for use.

Penpushing reports that these gestures came into limelight on Wednesday at a press conference held at the monarch’s palace located at the Government Reservation Area (GRA), Ibara, Abeokuta to kick start his 36th coronation anniversary which will formally commenced on May 16, 20252 with 36 hours marathon praise worship.

The Balogun Oke Ona Egba and Chairman, Coronation Committee Chief Morufu Ajisegiri who addressed journalists made this known affirming that the royal father has been embarking on the philanthropic gestures since ascension to the throne over three decades ago and still continues

Penpushing further reports that Ajisegiri accompanied by some other chiefs which include Chief (Mrs)Folashade Kokumo (Iyalode Oke-Ona), Chief Ayo Olusanya (Baameto of Oke-Ona), Chief Kayode Sobande(Akeweje Oke-Ona) and Chief Adebayo Adeyinka (Secretary Oke-Ona Council of Chiefs) disclosed that the beneficiaries include traders, indigent and non-indigent students among others.

The Committee chairman added that the royal father in same vein, use his personal funds to complement the salary in ensuring that none of the beneficiaries are left out from the Oke-Ona Dynasty Foundation established by Tejuoso for the purposes.

‘This foundation is 100% funded from the salary and allowances paid to Oba Tejuoso by the government of Ogun State. Therefore, it is safe to say that Oba Tejuoso has not personally spent a dime from the government salary’, Ajisegiri said

‘It is worthwhile to mention that the reign of Oba Tejuoso in Oke-Ona Egba has brought many remarkable developments to the good people of the community especially in the area of commerce, health and education’, he stated

‘For the information of all and sundry, many traders have benefitted from the free interest loan while many indigent and non-indigent students of tertiary institutions have received various cash as scholarship from Oke-Ona Dynasty Foundation’, Balogun stated

‘In the area of health, Oba Tejuoso being a reputable and distinguished medical practitioner has organized many medical outreach to the benefit of the people within and outside Oke-Ona Egba’, Ajisegiri emphasized.

Penpushing also reports that the committee boss highlighting activities of the coronation anniversary said the marathon praise worship will hold at Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library in Abeokuta commencing from 8am

The chairman explained that it will end on Saturday May 17, 2025, stating that it is opened to all members of the public, adding that Sunday May 18, 2025 is reserved as rest day, and that the monarch will on Monday May 19, 2025 receive all categories of people

Penpushing further reports that he said this include market women, youths, Ologun-Olorogun, Erelu and Afehinti who will pay him homages, adding that it is designed to take place at Osile Palace in Ago-Oko, Sapon area of the town.

The chairman added that the royal father will on Tuesday, May 20,2025 offer prayers for Oke-Ona, Egbaland, Ogun State and Nigeria with the ancient horse tail as early as 6am, and by 10am he will host Christians, Muslim and traditional clerics to offer prayers for peaceful co-existence among the people.

Penpushing also reports that he disclosed that soon after the prayer session the monarch will confer chieftaincy titles on some distinguished sons and daughters of Oke-Ona both home and in diaspora, while the ceremony will be rounded up with a Nigerian popular musician
