Oral sex is not a sin, says Apostle Johnson Suleman
The known controversial Nigerian cleric Apostle Johnson Suleman, has declared that oral sex by a couple is not a sin, while speaking during a question-and-answer session conducted at the church.
Penpushing reports that Suleman, who is the General Overseer of Omega Fire Ministries International, with headquarters in Edo State, made the remarks in a video which was uploaded on YouTube on August 22, 2025, however, it is unclear when the church service was held.
The uploaded YouTube showed a woman who appeared to be in her 50s at the church service reading out a question from a jotter, and asked the cleric if oral sex was a sin, while the congregants were heard murmuring while the cleric himself chuckled
Penpushing further reports that Suleman popularly called ‘Daddy’ by church members in response asked the congregants if he should answered the question from the Bible verse, and was encouraged to talk
“Should I answer from the Bible. Anything you do with your wife indoors is not a sin. So long as she’s your wife and both of you agree to do it, (it is not a sin). I can show you (from the Bible). When the Bible was talking about the wife of your youth, it was talking about ‘go within thy walls, let thy hands pass through her cisterns. What do you think the Bible was saying? So long as it is not fetish, a ritual, it is not diabolic, (it is not a sin)’, Suleman emphasized
Penpushing also reports that some worshippers murmured over the response by the clergyman, who equally dismissed arguments by some Christians who argue that oral sex is sinful because it involves mouths used to offer prayers and praises to God.
“Don’t you use the same mouth to gossip? Don’t you use the same mouth to tell lies? ‘I will be criticised on these comments. Save your home, save your home,” Suleman emphasized.
Penpushing reports that oral sex also called orogenital sex, involves using the mouth, lips, or tongue to stimulate a partner’s genitals or anus, but health experts said the practice is dangerous
The record has it that in 2027, a gynaecologist, Prof Adegboyega Fawole explained that oral sex has been linked with an increased risk of acquiring Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) infection in the mouth and with an increased risk of developing oral cancers that are caused by Human Papilloma Virus(HPV).
Penpushing further reports that Fawole of the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital (UITH) said the virus caused almost all cases of cervical cancer and could cause genital warts and anal cancer.
The Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH), consultant microbiologist Bamidele Mutiu, while corroborating Fawole’s position, stressed that oral sex is dangerous because organisms that cause Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STDs) are usually alive in the saliva.
Penpushing also reports that the consultant microbiologist in 2021 emphasised that the fluid and secretion from the genitals can contain organisms that cause Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STDs), which are alive and are not killed by the saliva.
