Olumayowa Idowu inaugurates as Chairman Nigerian Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers

The Nigerian Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (NIEEE) has officially inaugurated Engr. Olumayowa  Idowu as the new chairman to steer the activities of the institution.

Penpushing reports that, inauguration of Idowu and other executive members took place at the Valley View of Government House located at Oke-Igbein area of Abeokuta, the Ogun State Capital.

The other executive members included the chairman, (Engr.Olumayowa Idowu),Engr Abolaji Ilori (Deputy Chairman)  Engr. Akinola Solanke (General Secretary) Engr.Mrs. Tolulope Erinosho (Vice chairman power engineering section)  Engr.Temitope Adegbuyi (vice chairman, Instrumentation, Control and Automation Engineering Section),  Engr. Hon.Adewale Oguntade (Vice Chairman, Telecommunication and Computer Engineering Section), Engr. Olutunde Odumola (Treasurer),  Engr. Monsuru Lamidi (Financial Secretary)  Engr.Oludayo Oluwole(  (Member Secretary)  Engr. Joseph Odiete( Public Secretary) Engr. Felix Adegboye, (Immediate Past Chairman).

Penpushing further reports that,  Idowu in his acceptance speech, expressed appreciation to the past executive on whose shoulder he stands to lead the society, noting that their contributions, selflessness, support and vision are paralleled.

The Chairman assured that with the Nigerian Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (NIEEE) under his charge he will equally berth safely with lots of remarkable accomplishments’

‘By the show of our dogged determination, hardwork, diligence, honesty, resourcefulness, selflessness, decency and uncommon love to NIEE Abeokuta, our individual and collective names will forever remain indelible in the annals of our noble professional institute’, he said

Penpushing also reports that, he said as a core professional body, his administration is ever-ready to give utmost priority to the enhancement of capacity building of the members, thereby promoting their professional competence, broaden their horizons as well as keep them abreast of the daily happenings in the engineering world.

The Chairman listed number of programmes to make the workshop and training achievable which he said are: distinguished electrical engineering lecture, power energy summit, broadcasting engineering seminars, regular online technical sessions, membership drive, informative membership data base/networking, welfare and corporate social responsibility

Penpushing reports that, Idowu disclosed that the chapter had already submitted application for the hosting right of 18th International Conference and Exhibition on Power and Telecommunications (ICEPT), 2020

‘Our administration and chapter looks forward to host all members of our dear NIEE in October,2022 for the best ever International Conference and Exhibition on Power and Telecommunications (ICEPT), in the history of our institute’, he stated.

The General Manager of Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), Abeokuta, Mrs Funmi Wakama in her speech described Idowu as cerebral and commended him for his passion for the engineering profession, stressing that he has added values to the growth of the station.

Penpushing reports that, the veteran broadcast journalist hinted that Idowu is a pride for the station, who despite all odds ensure in bringing the station to limelight across the globe through technology which is now in vogue.
