Olowu commissions health centre for community, as Ogundele assures of more projects renovation

The Olowu of Owu Kingdom in Egbaland, Oba Saka Matemilola on Tuesday commissioned the renovated Igosun Primary Health Care Centre, located at Ago-Owu in Abeokuta North Local Government area of Ogun State.

Penpushing reports that the health care centre was renovated by Dr Sikirulai Ogundele as part of activities ahead of his installation as Obalumore of Owu Kingdom, scheduled to hold at Olowu palace on Thursday, February 22, 2024.

The commissioning of the centre which include the wards, outpatient department, consulting room among others attracted number of Owu indigenes and other residents who came to be part of the ceremony.

Penpushing further reports that the monarch in his speech commended Ogundele for the initiative in renovating the centre, adding that he has proven to be committed to the developmental growth of the community.

The royal father, however, called on all other indigenes to always be interested in contributing to the developmental growth of their communities, emphasisng that such gestures are to complement the efforts of governments.

Penpushing also reports that Matemilola explained that chieftaincy or honorary titles from his kingdom are done with merits, considering the contributions of proposed beneficiaries for such honour, stressing that the kingdom will always be out to celebrate its benefactors

The traditional ruler said he would ensure seeing that Owu kingdom get regular facelift, disclosing that as part of his own support for the health care centre he would provide free water service which he said will be regular.

Penpushing reports that the Health Secretary and Medical Officer of Health Center Authority of Abeokuta North Local Government, Dr Dipo Afonja earlier in his speech enjoined the locals to make use of the opportunity of the centre.

The Medical Doctor added and disclosed that the pregnant women have opportunity of free medical services at the centre and enjoined them to propagate the opportunities available to the nooks and crannies of the community.

Penpushing further reports that Ogundele who is the brainchild of the renovation and Obalumore of Owu Kingdom in his speech said the renovation was a payback to the society, assuring that he would strive to do more.

The High Chief said he would ensure he maintain resourceful and responsible association with the Olowu and other chiefs, as well as the community at large, stressing that he would always show interest on the welfare of the residents
