OGUN TRAFFIC AGENCY PLEDGES EFFECTIVE PERFORMANCE ON OGUN ROADS TO SAFE LIVES
The Commander disclosed that, strategic positioning of operatives of the agency in accident prone areas have been the secret behind the successful performances of the establishment, adding that these are also applicable in six corridors which exist in the State.
Penpushing further reports that, Ogunyemi affirmed that, the officials are proactive, and also added that the management has resolved to organize regular on the job training for the staff, and equally encouraged the officials on manner of approach to motorists and pedestrians while on duty.
The Commander, however, appealed to the Government on the need to employ additional staff, in view of shortage of staff being experienced, disclosing that, as at now, the agency numerical size is 574, and there would be need to have about 1,000 additional staff.
Penpushing also reports that, Ogunyemi call on the Government to provide additional facilities for the agency, to complements those on ground, stressing that, the facilities will further motivates the officials to work harder
The Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps(TRACE)boss encouraged the personnel to see themselves as visionary leaders, in making the agency great, pointing out that,’we are rendering social services’
‘Nonetheless, the Trace Corps Commander’s Conference the 4th in the series, has further taken it a step higher as a training and retraining platform for middle level officers of the corps, who are next in line in succession to readily position themselves to be equipped with the requisite knowledge so as to enhance their efficiency, moreso in this digitized age, where information and communication technology holds sway’, he said
Penpushing reports that, the Commander explained that the conference with the theme, ‘Human Capital Development In Road Traffic Management: Challenges and Prospects’ is designed towards building on past successes of more robust, versatile,intellectually sound and knowledge driven traffic management.
