Ogun state traditional ruler, Oba Fatai Akamo rolls out programmes for 21st coronation anniversary
The traditional ruler of Itori kingdom located in Ewekoro local government area of Ogun State Oba Fatai Akamo has rolled out programmes of events to mark his 21st anniversary of ascension to the throne.
Penpushing reports that the coronation with the theme “21 Years of Grace, Leadership and Community Impact”,is to kick start on Tuesday February 25, 2025 with traditional activities which include visit to Alaase shrine in Itori to offer prayers to the forebears and the ancestors of the land, with 21 gun salutes to mark over two decades on the throne.
The Tuesday programmes will be followed with a press conference on Wednesday where the monarch will equally grant interviews from the media, as well as humanitarian activities with visit to Ibara prisons, Abeokuta and meet 10 freed inmates who are unable to pay their fine fees and support them with resources to start a fresh life.
Penpushing further reports that the Olu Itori will on same day with his team visit Stella Obasanjo Orphanage Home, Abeokuta, where donations of foodstuffs, clothing, and other necessities will be made to support the children, and quality time will be spent with them as well, and later visit General Hospital, Abeokuta, to settle the medical bills of 21 patients who are unable to pay for their treatment.
The team will on Thursday embark on educational support with visit to DS Adegbenro ICT Polytechnic, Itori to give scholarship to 10 deserving students, and to partake in the unveiling of the inaugural Oba Akamo essay and debate competition, while there will also youth engagement with novelty football match.
Penpushing also reports that the novelty match engaging the youth of Itori is aimed to promote sportsmanship, unity, and social inclusion among the young minds,with grandfinale scheduled to hold on Friday, February 28, and get together party.
This will equally be followed with special prayers at the palace for continued peace, progress, and prosperity in Itori town, and a celebration of 21 years of impactful leadership with community members, dignitaries, and well-wishers.
