Divisional Police Officer calls for Support of community towards fighting crime

The Divisional Police Officer (DPO) Ajuwon Police Division, in Ifo Local Government Area of Ogun  State  Akinseye Andrew, has called for the support and cooperation of the Ajuwon Community towards tackling security challenges in the area.

Penpushing reports that   Akinseye, made the call during an Emergency Security Meeting with the Community Development Council/Community Development Association Chairmen under Ajuwon Division, held at the Ajuwon Police Station.

The Divisional Police Officer, who is a Superintendent of Police cautioned the residents who are fond of begging for the release of criminals to desist,  disclosing  that  a total number of 49 suspects have been arrested and charged to court since he assumed office.

Penpushing further reports that, the police boss said it is on record that some people do call him soliciting for the release of criminals which he bluntly refused, adding that in return he becomes subject of blackmail by some residents, ’in fact, some sets of people even came to Ajuwon Police Station to demonstrate”

The Police boss, debunked information circulating via the social media that robbers were robbing Olambe/Alausa areas and that they wrote letters to residents of some areas, which make them to leave their houses.

Penpushing also reports that the Divisional Police Officer   urged the people to always call his attention to any of his officers who erred, stressing, “like in every organisation, there are bad eggs and he is mindful of their existence also in the Police, However, if any of my officers err kindly call my attention to it”.

The Police chieftain, however released the Ajuwon Police Emergency Security Numbers, as follows; DPO Ajuwon: 08065797203, Patrol and Guard 1 : 08032192463, Patrol and  Guard 2 : 08037183425, Anti-Robbery Team A: 08034284123, Anti-Robbery Team B: 0703241086, emphasized  that under Community Policing, there is need for feedback, Intelligence gathering and accountability.

The Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC) Chairman, Alhaji Sanni Mubarak, said the meeting was a gathering of the community people, adding that the Divisional Police Officer sought for the residents supports in joint efforts fighting crimes and criminals.

Penpushing reports that, Mubarak the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC) resolved to team up with police in fight against criminals in the various communities that make up Ajuwon axis of the local government area and also prayed for the success of the Divisional Police Officer and his team.
