Ogun State Police Commissioner warns officers to be civil in enforcing lockdown order
The Ogun State Commissioner of Police Kenneth Ebrimson has warned officers and men of the Command to be civil with the members of the public while enforcing the 14 days lockdown order imposed by the Federal government which is to take effect in the State on Friday, to checkmate the wide spread of the deadly coronavirus also known as COVID 19.
Penpushing reports that, the police boss handed down the warning on Wednesday during on the spot assessment of border closure in Ogun State, and expressed satisfaction with the conduct of the security agencies in the areas visited.
The Commissioner was accompanied by the State Director of Department of State Security, Mr David Tsakur and Commandant Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Mr Hammed Abodurin,and boundary visited included Ogun and Lagos State at Ojodu-Berger area as well as boundary between Ogun and Oyo State at Ogunmakin area.
Penpushing further reports that, Ebrimson admonished them to take their time to explain the rationale behind the lockdown to people and persuade them to comply with the order rather than been harsh and brutal in their approach, stressing that the country is in a trying period and all hands must be on deck to fight and defeat the deadly virus.
