Ogun state house of assembly members visit Alake, Awujale to lobby support for good governance

The members of Ogun State House of Assembly led by the new Speaker Rt.Hon Oludaisi Elemide have visited two paramount rulers Alake of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Gbadebo and Awujale of Ijebuland, Oba Sikiru Adetona to lobby them for support in moving the state forward.

Penpushing reports during the separate familarisation to their palaces in Abeokuta and Ijebu-Ode respectively, Elemide explained that said the lawmakers decided to carry out the visit to the monarchs to identify with them and tap on their wisdom.

The number one lawmaker in the state who took over after the impeachment of the former speaker, Kunle Oluomo added that the traditional rulers wealth of experience in the administration of their various communities were worthy of acknowledgement and should be learnt by the lawmakers in keeping abreast with the demands of their constituents.

Penpushing further reports that the monarchs, however, urged the lawmakers to take advantage of their unity of purpose to promote mutual interdependence among all arms in a democracy to sustain the socio-economic development of the State.

The royal fathers commended the lawmakers for the seamless manner through which they elected their new leadership, acknowledging that their visit was first of its kind, emphasisng on need for them to take advantage of their unity in collaborating with the executive arm to further advance the overall development of the State.

Penpushing also reports that Awujale welcomed the lawmakers alongside Akarigbo of Remoland, Oba Babatunde Ajayi while in same vein and the Alake was supported by some traditional chiefs in the ancient town.
