Ogun state government to launch sports trust fund
The Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun has disclosed that his administration is working out modalities to launch Sports and Youths Trust Fund with pool of financial resources from the government and organised private sector.
Penpushing reports that, Abiodun made the disclosure during the commissioning of Molipa-Fasugboye, Asafa-Oke, Asafa-Isale roads in Ijebu-Ode, explaining that it is also aimed to empower youths and support students in the State.
“I will soon be launching a Sports and Youth Trust Fund with an assurance from the organised private sector that they will donate generously to that fund. The fund will be used to empower our youths and support our students’, he stated.
Penpushing further reports that, Abiodun said he had bidded for the Nigeria University Games in 2024, to ensure that youths in Ijebu-Ode, Remo, Abeokuta and Ilaro partake maximally, just as he urged the youth to exercise their franchise in the forthcoming 2023 general elections and not allow themselves to be used as thugs in the hands of desperate politicians.
