Ogun state government fetes 1,000 children at Christmas

The Ogun State Government on Christmas Day Celebration distributed gift items to about 1,000 children whose aged ranged between two and 18 years, and also thrilled to other attractions like bouncing castles and horse riding

Penpushing reports that the programmed tagged “Ori-Omi Children’s Party 2022”, held at Oke Sokori area of Abeokuta, the State Capital was the initiative of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, while in addition to the branded gifts to the 1,000 children, winners in games and dancing competitions also went home with special gifts

The Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Hon Adijat Adeleye-Oladapo, while speaking at the events explained that the programme was aimed at giving the children within Abeokuta environs a memorable holiday.

Penpushing further reports that, Adeleye-Oladapo, a former member of Ogun State House of Assembly said, celebrating with others aside their families in a controlled and secured atmosphere would definitely put smiles on their faces.

‘This is one of the present administration’s lofty ideas of spreading love and integrating children into Christmas celebrations. We as an administration understands that the celebration is incomplete without children being touched tenderly with love,” she said.

Penpushing reports that, the children expressed appreciation to Governor Dapo Abiodun for the gesture, describing it as an act of kindness, emphasizing that the celebration was top-notch, and called for its continuity.
