
Ogun State College of Nursing Sciences commences screening of applicants
The screening exercise for prospective students into the Ogun State College of Nursing Sciences through a Computer Based Test (CBT) for Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and Oral Interview has commenced.
Penpushing reports that Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Health, Dr. Kayode Oladehinde made this known to journalists explaining that the exercise is scheduled to hold at School of Nursing located within premises of Federal Medical Centre (FMC) at the Idi-Aba, Abeokuta.

The Permanent Secretary explained that the screening exercise is for selection of qualified candidates into the Institution’s next academic session, adding that after a rigorous and transparent selection process, 360 students would be admitted into the 3 campuses including Abeokuta, Ilaro and Ijebu-Ode with 120 candidates per campus.
Penpushing further reports that Oladeinde stated that a Computer Based Test (CBT) and oral interview was introduced in ensuring that only qualified candidates gain admission into the college.
The Permanent Secretary emphasized that this policy aligned with the Ogun State government commitment to raising the standard of healthcare delivery, and commended Governor Dapo Abiodun efforts towards development of health education and sector

Penpushing also reports that Oladeinde equally pointed out that the Commissioner for Health, Dr. Tommy Coker has been working tirelessly at improving health sector policies and infrastructure, especially in the area of training health officers cannot be wished away.
The Provost of Ogun State College of Nursing Sciences Dr. Jeminat Sodimu, in her remarks encouraged the applicants to be well prepared, determined and be focused, stressing that nursing profession goes beyond uniform.
Penpushing reports that Sodimu emphasized that they must equally exhibit passion for the profession, rather should be interested in running awa from the country as a result of Japa syndrome.
