Ogun state broadcasters hail appointment, assumption of duty of Bode Ojajuni as the new Commissioner of Police

The Ogun State Chapter of the Freelance and Independent Broadcasters’ Association of Nigeria (FIBAN) has hailed the appointment and assumption of duty of Bode Ojajuni as the new Commissioner of Police, Ogun State Command.

Penpushing reports that Chairman of the association, Chief Olalekan Shoyinka in a statement said the body received the appointment and deployment of Ojajuni to Ogun State with great optimism

‘We receive with great optimism the deployment of CP Ojajuni to the Gateway State, as our 38th CP, considering his distinguished track record as a seasoned law enforcement professional, a strategic thinker and an accomplished officer with both local and international exposure’, the statement read.

Penpushing further reports that Shoyinka popularly called Ayinla Egba in the statement added that Ojajuni’s emergence marks the beginning of a new era of purposeful and result-driven policing in Ogun State.

‘CP Ojajuni’s career journey since his enlistment into the Nigeria Police Force in 1996 as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police reflects a remarkable blend of operational excellence and administrative competence’.

‘His impactful service as the Police Public Relations Officer for Lagos State Command, coupled with his leadership roles across various Police Mobile Force Squadrons and critical units such as the Anti-Fraud Section at SCID Panti, clearly demonstrates his versatility and depth of experience’.

‘Of particular note is his tenure as Area Commander of Area A (Lion Building), Lagos Island, where his innovative approach to urban policing earned him the prestigious “Area Commander of the Year” Award in 2021’, the statement added.

Penpushing also reports that the body of broadcasters pointed out that this achievement, among others, underscores his commitment to professionalism, discipline, and community-focused policing.

‘On the global stage, CP Ojajuni has continued to make Nigeria proud. His election into the INTERPOL Africa Committee at the 27th African Regional Conference in Cape Town in 2025 stands as a testament to his competence and international recognition’.

‘His recent leadership role at the INTERPOL Nigeria National Central Bureau has further equipped him with modern strategies to combat evolving security challenges, including cybercrime and transnational criminal activities’.

‘We also note with significance his previous service in Ogun State as Deputy Commissioner of Police at the State Criminal Investigation Department (CID), which positions him as a familiar and experienced hand who understands the unique security dynamics of the state’.

‘As critical stakeholders in information dissemination and public engagement, Ogun FIBAN expresses confidence in CP Ojajuni’s capacity to strengthen security architecture, deepen community policing, and foster a robust partnership with the media’.

‘We believe his well-known open-door policy will enhance collaboration, transparency, and trust between the police and the public.
