OGUN JOURNALITS SET TO ELECT NEW LEADERSHIP
Other contestants for the position of Vice-Chairman are; Kunle Olayeni of Daily Telegraph, and Daud Olanrewaju of the Local Government Information, for the Secretary are: Ayokunle Ewuoso of State Ministry of Information and Oyebade Adegoke; also of Ministry of Information, while for the Assistant Secretary position are: Bisi Alarape of Ogun State Television(OGTV) and Taiwo Abiodun of Daily Times.
The positions of Treasurer, Financial Secretary and Auditor, had; Anthony Gandonu of Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), Abiola Otunuga of Federal Information and Kazeem Lawal of News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), respectively, already returned unopposed.
Penpushing further reports that, the National Secretariat of the union had cleared all contestants, as three officials which include; Gbemiga Bamidele(Senior Assistant Deputy Secretary),Cosmos Oni(Vice-President B Zone) and Bamigbola Gbolagunte(Zonal Secretary)
The manifestoes for the election was held on Thursday at the Nigeria Union of Journalists(NUJ) Secretariat, Iwe-Iroyin House, Abeokuta, the Ogun State Capital, which was attended by hundreds of the members.
Penpushing also reports that, the electoral committee include; Afolabi Lawal of Nigeria Television Authority(NTA) who is the Chairman, Remi Adebiyi of Ogun State Television, who serve as the Secretary, Titi Ogunjemiluwa of National Orientation Agency(NOA) as member, Gboyega Oniyide of Local Government Information Chapel and Simeon Fakeye of Federated Chapel as members
The Electoral committee chairman, Afolabi Lawal while speaking assured of free and fair election, emphasizing that all arrangements for successful election already put in place, and warned all members to shun act capable of bringing the union to disrepute
