OGUN JOURNALISTS CONGRATULATE SOMORIN AS CHIEF PRESS SECRETARY
The congratulatory message added that, the appointment of the Chief Press Secretary confirms the importance and relevance of journalism to good governance and propagation of Government activities, while Council also reminded Governor Dapo Abiodun of the expectations of residents of the State people including good governance and people oriented policies.
Penpushing further reports that, Somorin was a former London Bureau Chief of This Day Newspapers with media management experience and as worked as the Director General Research and Public Communications at the Niger State Governor’s Office, between 2012 and 2015 and as Special Assistant, Media and Public Affairs, Office of the Deputy Speaker House of Representatives between 2003 and 2007.
The Chief Press Secretary had his first Degree from University of Port Harcourt and Masters Degree from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, and currently pursuing his PhD in Communications at the University of Technology, Sydney, Australia.
Penpushing also reports that, Somorin, who hails from Obafemi/Owode Local Government area of Ogun State, had served as the Editor-in-Chief, Africa Resource Centre (ARC) at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library before his appointment which takes immediate effect.
