OGUN FORMER SECRETARY TO STATE GOVERNMENT, POJU ADEYEMI DIES AT 80
The Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun who was one of the early callers at the deceased home located in Government Reservation Area,GRA, Ibara,Abeokuta on a condolence visit to the family, was accompanied by members of the State Executive Council.
Amosun described the late former two-time Secretary to the State Government and Head of the State Civil Service, as an exemplary public servant, worthy of emulation and an exemplary public servant, worthy of emulation.
The Governor said “we are not happy that Deacon Poju Adeyemi is gone, but we thank God that he lived a fulfilled life”, describing him as a man, who loved his people deeply, adding that there is no way the history of the State will be written, without a prominent mention of his name.
Amosun pointed out that the late Adeyemi, who served simultaneously as Secretary to the State Government and and Head of Service in the Civil Service from January, 1992 to January 1994 and reappointed Secretary to the State Government from June 1999 to May, 2003, left an indelible mark and vacuum that will be difficult to fill.
When Penpushing contacted, former Minister of Education, Chief(Mrs) Iyabo Anisulowo, a close associate of the deceased and from the same geo=political zone in the State,burst into tears when she learnt about the death.
Anisulowo who was indisposed as at the time the death news of Adeyemi got to her, was short of words, saying she could not believe his ears when the sad news filtered to her.
