OGUN FORMER FINANCE COMMISSIONER, SOGUNLE ADVOCATES KNOWLEDGE BASED SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS
The Financial Expert commended the Civil Society group for initiating the upcoming International Stakeholders Conference on Sustainable Development Goals (SDG’s) which focuses on Localizing SDG at Sub National levels, Gains, Opportunity and Challenges as a quality platform for the institutionalisation of SDG at all levels.
The Chairman Board of Trustees of Civil Society Coalition on Sustainable Development (CSCSD) and Director Justice Development and Peace Commission, Ijebu-Ode, Rev Fr.John Patrick Ngoyi said Sustainable Development Goals (SDG’s) implementation though is within the purview of Government, other partners including the Private Sector, Academia, Civil Society, Media and Community Development Associations has roles to play for quality implementation.
Penpushing further reports that, Ngoyi explained that the 2nd Stakeholders Conference on Sustainable Development Goals(SDG’s) scheduled for 28th October through 1st November would provide opportunities for experience sharing, networking and inclusiveness in line with the maxim, leave no one behind.
The Chairman Ogun State Community Development Council, Alhaji Rasaq Kupoluyi, State Admiral Federation of Muslim Women, Alhaja Rabiat and Chief Executive officer, Centre for Economic Empowerment and Gender initiatives, Mrs Funmilayo Hassan in their separate submissions expressed commitment to partner Government in promoting inclusive Governance.
Penpushing also reports that, earlier in a welcome address, the Acting Local Organising Committee( LOC) Chairman, Mr Tola Adenekan said the International Stakeholders Conference on Sustainable Development Goals (SDG’s) will bring together Actors at all tiers of Government and International participants to come up with holistic approach to the project implementation at the Sub National.
The Local Organising Committee boss disclosed that the Wife of Ogun State Governor, Mrs Bamidele Abiodun and the Ekiti State Governor, Dr Kayode Fayemi would be decorated as Sustainable Development Goals (SDG’s) Champion at the opening ceremony of the Conference which has the Ogun State Governor,Prince Dapo Abiodun as Chief Host.
