OGUN CHAMBER OF COMMERCE IN CONJUCTION WITH GERMAN VOCATIONAL TRAINING TURNS OUT NEW SET OF 46 GRADUATES
The President of the Chambers, Kolawole Lawal in his welcome speech said the graduation ceremony entails three batches of apprentices simultaneously from Office Administration,Project Management and Industrial Electronics professions.
He noted that, the German Dual Vocational Training(DVT) programme has provided opportunity for unemployed youth to learn adequate technical and vocational skills in order to be become engaged, stressing that it has been proved that vocational and technical education training is vital for the sustainable economic development.
The President further explained that, it combines theory and practice, hence, the need for all to embrace, adding that, ’our members have displayed their commitments to this partnership, by dipping their hands in their pockets to provide the needed counterpart funding for the training project since 2012.
He disclosed that, the partnership will end by end of this month,but added that, the council is working tirelessly for the sustainability of the programme beyond 2018, just as he pointed out that the Board for Technical and Vocational Education in the State has been of tremendous support to the council
On the graduands, Lawal said, ’the task before you now is to deploy the skills that you have learnt during the course of this training in your respective companies to upscale productivity in the Nigerian economy’.
The Head of German Delegation, Dr Marc Lucassen in his remark said,the objective of the German Dual Vocational Training(DVT) was to raise academic and technical status of the youths, and also create job,and affirming that the organization was confortable with the chamber.
He disclosed that in due time, the German Dual Vocational Training (DVT) is focusing on other courses,’we want to increase curriculum. Our job is bilateral, and we are looking in various directions.
