The former President in his welcome speech before the closed door meeting, with the Fulani leaders, encouraged them to feel free, and that he is convinced that they are knowledgeable enough to interact successfully
‘I want to also beg of you, we must not leave anything under the carpet, and that is the only way to get the best from a meeting like this. None of us doesn’t know what has been happening about insecurity in the country. We should be able to get a way forward’, he emphasized
Penpushing further reports that, Obasanjo said no doubt, there is criminality and insecurity in the country, lamenting that things have not being like this before, hence, the need to join hands together in addressing the menace.
‘There is criminality, there is insecurity, and these have not being like this before. We need to be in the light, but those who want to be in the dark, we leave them in the darkness, but majority of us must be in the light. We want to see things clearly as they are’, he said
The former President disclosed that, with the high level of insecurity in Nigeria, the ugly development has turned a nightmare for other African Countries, that sees Nigeria as a leading country in the continent.
His words, Our brothers in Africa are worried. They see Nigeria as a hope, and as a leading nation in the continent, the high level of insecurity is of concern and worry to them. Let us all go to the grassroot level to solve the problems’
