OBASANJO ENGAGES GOVERNOR MAKINDE IN CLOSED- DOOR MEETING
The visit of Governor Makinde will be the second since he assumed office as the Oyo State Governor, and it is also recalled that the first visit came barely few weeks after his swearing in as the Governorof the State.
Penpushing further reports that, after the meeting, the former President hosted the Governor and his team to a lunch, but refused to comment on details of their meeting as at the time of filing this report
The Governor addressing journalists thereafter said he was on a private visit to Obasanjo to greet him for the new year, and to wish him best wishes in 2020, according to the tradition, adding that the former President is an elderly person, who deserves such visit
Penpushing also reports that, Makinde while reacting to the Attorney-General’s description of Amotekun as illegal said he was not aware of such pronouncement, because it has no official letter to that effect.
The Governor declared that the statement credited to the Minister was social media statement that can be done by anybody, stressing that it was absolutely wrong to make such pronouncement through social media, adding that he read the statement on social media like any other person.
Penpushing reports that, he explained that the security outfit was to fill the gap still witnessing in the security mapping of the country, stressing that security is key to the nation well-being, and while speaking on his strides in Oyo State, Makinde affirmed that he was just following his well-planned document for governance which he prepared before winning the Governorship election in 2019.
