Obasanjo debunks death rumour of olowu, says monarch is alive

The Owu Traditional Council in Owu Kingdom of Egbaland has debunked speculations that the traditional ruler of the town, Oba Adegboyega Dosunmu has passed on, and described social media report of anxiety over the health of the monarch as falsehood.

Penpushing reports that, the Nigerian former President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo who is the Prime Minister (Balogun) of Owu Kingdom dispelled the death rumour on Saturday in a press statement.

The Balogun of Owu explained that contrary to the death rumour, he explained that the royal father only went for a minor surgery at the University College Hospital(UCH), Ibadan and has since been discharged and recuperating in Abeokuta.

‘Contrary to the speculative reportage about the health condition of Oba Olusanya Adegboyega Dosunmu, Kabiyesi  had a minor surgery at the UCH Ibadan and has since been discharged and recuperating in Abeokuta’, Obasanjo emphasied.

The statement  further explained that, Olowu’s health remains stable and gives no sign for apprehension, and thanked those who ceaselessly called to enquire about the monarch following the speculative report and advised newsmen to exercise restraint and abide by their investigative norms before “breaking news”.
