Oba Tejuoso inaugurates new market women leader, community head

The Traditional ruler of Oke-Ona Egba in Ogun State, Oba (Dr) Adedapo Tejuoso has approved and inaugurated new women leader to overseer affairs of the Elega market located in Abeokuta North Local Government Area of the State.

Penpushing reports that, the inauguration which also includes the installation of new Babaloja (market men leader) and Baale of the community was supervised by Iyalode of Egbaland, Chief (Mrs) Alaba Lawson held at Elega market in Abeokuta.

The new Iyaloja is Alhaja Ayeesat Akande, while the Babaloja is Wasiu Oloyede and community leader (Baale), Yaya Hassan, and they were already decorated with paraphenia of their various portifolios at the well attended ceremony.

Penpushing further reports that, Osile Oke-Ona, Oba Adedapo Tejuoso represented by Chief Taofeek Lawal who is the Akinrogun of Oke-Ona Egba, declared that, the inaugurated officials remained authentic leaders to supervise their various portfolios.

The royal father affirmed that, certificates had earlier being issued to them, stressing that the inauguration was to further authenticate their emergence as approved by the traditional council, which is the constituted authority to install them.

Penpsuhing also reports that, the monarch called on his subjects in the community, and the traders to cooperate with the newly inaugurated officials for the betterment of all and sundry, and tasked the officials on need to live above board.

The Iyalode in her remarks, said, the day was unique in the history of the community and the market, pointing out the officials were considered based on merits and conviction of the traditional ruler of the town.

Penpushing reports that, Lawson, who is the Iyalode of Yorubaland called on residents, traders and other stakeholders to show love, dedication and support for the Inaugurated officials, stressing that, the leadership should avoid ethnicity issues.

The former President of Nigerian Association of Chambers of  Commerce,  Industry, Mines  and Agriculture (NACCIMA), disclosed that, the late business mogul, Chief (Mrs) Bisoye Tejuoso was her role model in the business industry, and challenged the new officers to be proactive

 

‘I want to say this here again, our late mother, Chief Bisoye Tejuoso was my role model, and I want ti also encourage you all to support the new Iyaloja and others for the progress of the market. I implore you that, for the market to grow and flourish, it is the responsibilities of all of us ‘,Lawson emphasied

‘Our royal father had earlier issued out certificates to them, so know that those being inaugurated here today are the authentic leaders. Let us avoid what will divide us, and do away with ethnicity. The growth of community is responsibility of all of us’, she said.

Penpushing further reports the presentation of staff of office, decorations and other  relevant power of authorities  were carried out by Chief (Mrs) Yemisi Alogi and Alhaji Taofeek Lawal, both who are high Chiefs in Oke Ona- Egba
