Number of vehicles catch fire in midnight multiple crash on Lagos-Ibadan expressway
A multiple midnight crash occurred on Wednesday along Lagos-Ibadan expressway with unspecified number of vehicles burnt beyond recognition, while it could not be ascertained if there was loss of life as at the time of incident.
Penpushing reports that the Public Education Officer of Federal Road Safety Corps(FRSC), Ogun State Command, Florence Okpe confirmed the incident adding that the crash occurred opposite Shotong along the highway and resulted in fire outbreak which consumed number of vehicles
“FRSC Ogun Sector Command wishes to inform the motoring public on the traffic situation along Lagos-Ibadan expressway due to multiple crash that resulted to fire incident opposite shotong. Number of burnt vehicles could not be ascertained for now”, she said.
The Command spokesperson said as at the time of filing this report efforts were ongoing to put off the fire,adding that the fire service officials are on ground and traffic has been diverted to avoid secondary crash.
“Motorists are advised to remain calm , discipline, and cooperate with traffic managers . FRSC and others sister agencies are fully on ground managing the situation”.
