Non-Government Organisation rolls out drums to celebrate members
A Non-Governmental Organisation(NGO) known as Life is Fun Foundation Islanders (LIFF) on Saturday rolled out drums to celebrate its maiden Christmas get together for its members, who are professionals in various fields.
Penpushing reports that the event took place at Caesars Lounge, Victoria Island, Lagos, a programme which part of activities included medical and wellness check-ups for members, visit to the Lagos State Motherless Babies Home at Lekki.
The foundation also launched the organisation’s project for the year 2021 to accommodate customized English Language and Mathematics Textbooks for distribution in Public Secondary Schools, investiture of Grand-Patron and Patrons as well as conferment of awards on some members who have distinguished themselves with the activities of the Island.
Penpushing further reports that, the Chief Executive Officer of the foundation, Mrs. Titilayo Bello in her welcome speech said that the group was created basically to make members happy and motivate each other in a peaceful, classy and intellectual environment.
The foundation boss, who is also the Chief Registrar of the Customary Court of Appeal in Ogun State, stated that members not only catch fun, but also believe in self development hence the foundation plans to open a Self-Study Development Centre soon where weekends and virtual courses will be available and certificates awarded at the end of the short program.
Penpushing also reports that, Bello stressed that the foundation believes in touching the lives of the less privileged in the society, hence the visit to the Janet Bankole Memorial Orphanage at Abeokuta on the 17th November 2020 and that of the Lagos State Orphanage Home at Lekki on Saturday 19th December, 2020.
The Chief Executive Officer disclosed that some of the activities ear-marked for implementation in 2021 include the production of ‘’Say No to Domestic Violence” Video clip, Production and distribution of English and Mathematics Textbooks in Public Secondary Schools, construction of shelter for women and children rescued from domestic violence as well as orphans and vulnerable children (OVC).
Penpushing further reports that, notable among the awardees are Ahmed Iliyasu , an Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) Zone 2. Chief Adetunji Ebo, Chief Kemi Wellington-Ebo, His Royal Majesty, Oba Saheed Ifalohun Odusanya( Olu of Idi-Oke, Igbesa), Barrister Lukman Abdullah, Prof. Oyebade Francis, Ahmad Kafayat, Igbayilola and Dupe Olaniyi-Obe
Meanwhile, some of the dignitaries in attendance included Prof. Oyebade Francis, Chief Lukman Kuoye, Mr. Olujimi Emmanuel, Vero Etuk, Barrister Lukman Abdullah, Hon. Fasinu Sewedo, Olalekan Ojo, Hon. Abayomi Tella, Comrade Adebesin Bolanle the newly elected Women Leader of (SSANU) South-West) and Sina Adefolahan among others
