Nigerian Movie icon, Owolabi Ajasa’s son steps into father’s shoes in theatre world

Ayomide Ololade Owolabi is the son of the popular filmmaker and movie producer Ajasa Owolabi and has stepped into shoe of his father in the Nigerian movie industry, after securing Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry Education from Olabisi Onabanjo University (OOU), Ago-Iwoye town of Ogun State.

Penpushing reports that in an exclusive interview conducted with him expressed delight on the fame of his father in the theatre world has equally brought for him, particularly among his peers in school and other enviros.

The university graduate, who is also planning to go for his Masters degree, also disclosed his future plan in the movie industry by following the footpath of his father and equally ride positively on his success for him to attain global recognition.

What is your name and background?

My name is Ayomide Ololade Owolabi I started at St Martin’s Nursery and Primary and thereafter proceeded to Ideal Comprehensive College for my secondary education, all in Abeokuta, and I just earned a degree in Chemistry Education at Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye

Can you also be an actor like your Dad?

Yes, I am also an Actor. I started acting from tender age. I am also an Editor, because I learnt editing during the holidays while I was in school. I am also looking ahead to be relevant in the movie industry like my father

 What are your parents’ occupation and your future plans?

My Dad is a filmmaker/movie producer while my mum is self-employed, an on my future plan, I want to proceed in my education to earn a master’s degree in the university

Your Daddy play Police Officer role in movies, and how do you feel about this?

It is a great privilege for me because, my peers tend to associate more with me and asks questions concerning his profession. There is a good rapport between my Dad and I, and also with the rest of the family as a whole

Does your dad care for you both at home and in school?   

Yes, he is a good father to me both at home and also while in school

Can you mention few movies produced by your dad?  

He has produced a lot of movies that I can’t mention all, but a few amongst them include: Àdánwò Olópà, Nkan Òkúnkún, Ojó Ìkómo, and a recent one titled: Afòkúsorò

If you have opportunity to travel out of the country, will you come back home or you will stay?

Yes, I will return to my country without hesitation

What advice can you give your daddy on his acting career and your peers looking up to you?   

I would advise my dad to work with ease and have a lot of rest. My advice to my colleagues/friends is to make hay while the sun still shine
