Nigerian government to commence rehabilitation of Lagos – Sango-Abeokuta highway

The Ogun State Government on Tuesday said the Federal Government is ready to commence the immediate rehabilitation of the failed portions of Lagos – Sango-Abeokuta Federal highway, adding that this followed the intervention of Governor Dapo Abiodun.

Penpushing reports that the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Kunle Somorin made this known in a statement, adding that the Minister of Works and Housing Raji Fashola, gave the commitment during a teleconference between the State Governor and the Minister’s Team.

The statement said areas of immediate attention are the failed portions around Sango-Otta on the Lagos – Abeokuta express road and the Ota – Idiroko road, noting that these Federal roads have become a nightmare to motorists and commuters.

Penpushing further reports that, Somorin said a team of Engineers from the Federal Ministry of Works is expected on Thursday for assessment preparatory to commencement of the rehabilitation works.

The statement added that the meeting was called at the instance of  Governor Abiodun ,and those in attendance include the Minister; Managing Director, Federal Road Maintenance Agency  (FERMA), Engr. Nurudeen Rafindadi; Director of Federal Highway (Construction and Rehabilitation), Engr Folorunso Esan; among others.

Penpushing also reports that, the Governor reassured the citizens of the State that his administration will leave no stone unturned in his commitment to build and upgrade public infrastructure across the state
