Nigerian Doctor dies of coronavirus

A medical practitioner, Dr Aliyu Yakubu who owns a private hospital in Daura, Katsina State has died  at the Nigeria Air Force Reference Hospital, Daura  of coronavirus at the age of 60.

Penpushing reports that Governor Aminu Masari  of the State broke the sad news on Tuesday at a press conference held in Katsina, adding that he(deceased) had visited his home State, Kogi, from where he travelled to Lagos some weeks ago.

The Governor said on return to the state, the Doctor fell sick and was admitted at the hospital, where he died three days ago, adding that the samples of his blood were taken to the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) for diagnosis before his death and was diagnosed positive to Coronavirus.

“We have received bad news of COVID-19. The deceased samples showed COVID-19 positive. Before his death, he was also diagnosed for hepatitis and hypertension, three years ago,” he said,adding that as at the time of the press conference samples of all those that had contact with him  before his death were being taking by  the State Medical response team in Daura.
