Electoral commission to start final collation of results 12pm on Sunday

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) will commence the final collation of the Presidential and National Assembly election results on Sunday from 12.00pm, which will be made available by the national headquarters in Abuja.

Penpushing reports that  a total of 18 presidential candidates  participated in the Saturday poll, with major contenders include Bola Tinubu of All Progressives Congress(APC), Atiku Abubakar of Peoples Democratic Party(PDP), Peter Obi of Labour Party(LP) and Rabiu Kwankwaso of New Nigerian Peoples Party(NNPP).

The country has a total of 774 local government areas, and after elections are conducted at polling units and results are announced, the collation of results is done at wards and local governments before they are done at state headquarter

Penpushing further reports that over 87 million Nigerians, who collected their voters’ cards, were eligible to vote in the elections as Nigeria, the most populous African country elects a new president and federal lawmakers.
