Niger Republic Coup: American Government vows to hold coupists accountable for Bazoum’s safety

The United States of America (USA) has declared that it would hold the Niger Republic coupists responsible and accountable for the safety of democratically elected President Mohamed Bazoum, his family, and detained members of the government.

Penpushing reports that America Secretary of State Antony Blinken made this clear in a statement, emphasisng that the country (America) joined the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) in calling for the restoration of constitutional order in the troubled country

The American Government in the statement threw its weight and support behind the Economic Community of West Africa States (ECOWAS) over its determination to explore all options for the peaceful resolution of the crisis.

Penpushing further reports that United States of America (USA) it is recalled recently paused certain foreign assistance programmes for Niger Republic after the military junta overthrew the democratically elected government of President Bazoum.

The Economic Community of West Africa States (ECOWAS) it is also recalled on Thursday ordered the activation of a standby military force for possible use against the junta that took power in Niger in July 26, 2023.
