National Youth Service Corps Scheme remains most potent symbol of national unity – Coordinator

The National Youths Service Corps (NYSC) has been described as the most potent symbol of national unity, which binds together different ethnic groups in Nigeria.
Penpushing reports that Coordinator in Oyo State, Mrs Grace Ogbuogebe in her address during the low key swearing in ceremony of 2021 Batch A (stream l) Youth Corps members held on Monday in Iseyin Camp, stated that the scheme has continued to uphold its mandate of ensuring unity in diversity which started from the orientation course.
The coordinator noted 1,100 Corps members comprising of 548 males and 552 females deployed to Oyo state and dislodged from Lagos State, adding that as young leaders and cream of the society, unity of Nigeria lies on their shoulders.
Penpushing further reports that, she urged the new Corps members to overlook their differences, interact amongst themselves while in camp and come up with ideas that will help lift our nation to a greater pedestal.
“The three weeks orientation course well packaged with interesting and exciting programs (lectures, socials, sports) promises to provide creditable knowledge and will create opportunities for you to relate and learn from each other “, she said.
Penpushing also reports that the State Coordinator however encouraged the Corps members to make themselves readily available at all the camp activities, enjoined them to immensely contribute their quota to the development of the nation and the State in particular in the course of their service year.
The newly sworn in Corps members who were charged to adhere strictly to the coronavirus safety protocols, were equally advised to make adequate use of the facilities put in place by the management to fight the pandemic.
Penpushing reports that the highlight of the event was the administration of oath of allegiance and sample signing of the oath document before the Oyo State Chief Judge represented by Hon. Justice Moshood Abass.
