My in-laws conspired, killed my wife because of inheritance, man alleges

An Ibadan-based businessman, Engr. Samson Odunro has alleged that the family of his wife, Iyabode Eboda conspired and killed her because of the inheritance their parents left behind.

Penpushing reports that the distressed father of six said  the family conspired to pick his sick wife in his absence and refused to allow him have access to her until they later broke news of her death to him.

“She suddenly developed a symptom and we have been managing it. I traveled to my work place to arrange for money for her treatment. I left her with my two family members to care for her. When I was coming, I called her and she promised to cook for me’, the bereaved husband said.

“When I was about to leave my base, I called her again but she didn’t pick. On getting home, I asked people about her whereabout but they told me her families have taken her to their base’,Odunro said.

“I called the family to know her whereabout but they didn’t allow me to see her. I approached them, including their family head that if anything happens to my wife, I won’t take it easy with them’.

“The most devastating news I received on Tuesday last week is that she is dead. My question now is that why did the family refused to give me access to her before she died. I know they conspired to kill her,” he said.

Penpushing further reports that the family head of Eboda, Mr Olajumoke Eboda  in reaction to the allegation said that the woman did not die in the family house but at hospital where her children were treating her.

“She died while her children were treating her. Her children called to inform me about her demise and I called her husband to tell him. Her husband came around and later brought police to arrest me and other members of the family.Police had intervened and they asked us to settle it amicably. I want to appeal to him to talk to his children rather than alleging the family of killing his wife”,Eboda said

Penpushing also reports that,when contacted, the Oyo DState Police Command  Public Relations Officer, Adewale Osifeso  confirmed the incident explaining that some Eboda family members were actually arrested in connection with the incident but were later released.
