Security agents serve magu invitation on way to office, to appear before panel, says crimes commission

The Economic Crimes Commission (EFCC) said its acting chairman; Ibrahim Magu was served an invitation letter on his way to office, to appear before a Presidential Panel reviewing the activities of the commission.

Penpushing reports that, the Head of Media and Publicity of the commission, Dele Oyewale made this known in a statement to clear air on the circumstance surrounding the incident.

‘Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission(EFCC),  Mr.  Ibrahim Magu on Monday,  July 6,  2020, honoured an invitation by a Presidential Panel reviewing the activities of the EFCC, at the Banquet Hall wing of the Presidential Villa,  Abuja.

‘He was served the invitation to the panel,  while on his way to the Force Headquarters, Abuja for a meeting.

Penpushing further reports that, Oyewale said Magu was not arrested nor forced as reported but was invited by the security agents

‘The EFCC’s boss was neither arrested nor forced to honour the invitation.  A member of a legal team from the EFCC is also with him on the panel’, Oyewale explained.
