Music Legend, Ebenezer Obey thrills university graduating students with old tunes

The juju music legend Chief Ebenezer Obey-Fabiyi on Saturday added glamour to graduation ceremony of the Alhikmah University, Abeokuta Campus, as he went memory lane dishing out his old tunes, which ignited the celebration to high heaven

Penpushing reports that the music icon who is the visioner of the campus located along Abeokuta-Ayetoro in Abeokuta North local government was a special guest at the event, where 53 students graduated from various departments of the institution

The founder of Penpushing Media, Prince Dimeji Kayode-Adedeji during his goodwill message had requested for an exclusive interview with the music legend aimed to focus on what motivated him in releasing a motivational song titled ’Ketekete’, (The Man and the Horse)

Penpushing further reports that the media practitioner pointed out that the songs among others are evergreen, hence, need for him (Obey) to find time at a later date in sharing his music experience during the proposed interview with Penpushing Media.

The music idol apparently impressed and convinced about the Penpushing Media observation and request, in response offered to sing some of the old tunes to the admiration of the graduating students and their guests.

Penpushing also reports that Obey asked the gatherings which three of his old tunes which include ‘Ketete’ they want him to sing, and in unison the audience added ‘Aimasiko’ and A njade loo…”, and in swift response the music icon took microphone to dish out the evergreen music.

The music which rented the air, ignited the hall, as the graduating students, new entrants and other guests jumped from their seats and danced their hearts out, reeling in excitement as they equally chorused the songs alongside Obey

Penpushing reports that Obey, however, used the opportunity to announce that he would find time to return to the school, and produce updated version of the tunes in collaboration with the students, who he said would also be part of the productions

The veteran musician who later took time to pray for the graduating students and the new intakes, was accompanied to the venue by his consultant, Chief Sanya Abiola, Chief Tunji Odunbaku(General Manager of Ebenezer-Obey Music Company).

Penpushing further reports that other dignitaries include: Prof Sabur Adesanya (Vice-President Board of Trustees of the University), Dr Abdusalam Atotileto (Director, Centre for Part Time Studies of the University), Emmanuel Oke(Lecturer in Mass Communication Department) and other lecturers from various department, as well as staff of the institution.

The graduating students in the department of Accounting include: Omidiji Temitope Omolade, Amoo Ibrahim Olawale, Oyenola Yetunde   Olufunmilayo, Adeola Toyin, Popoola Atinuke Tinuola, Olusegun Idowu,Taiwo Islamiat, Ogunbanwo Adegboyega Lawal, Adewolu Adeyemi Dauda and Oyatayo Saheedat Olajumoke

Penpushing also reports that the graduates from Business Administration department are: Shorolu Taoheed Oladele, Sanni Ogundele Dolapo Evelyn, Jimoh Abdulwasiu, Adebesin Ayotunde, Oluajo Oluwatoyosi Abosede, Hassan Nurudeen Owolabi, Moaaku Adebayo Olusegun, Orunsolu Ajoke Jelilat and Zubair Nurat.
