Murder suspect passes death sentence on self before trial
A suspected notorious and serial killer Philip Ogunnaike who is currently in police custody following his arrest after raping and killing number of innocent victims has called on the authorities to sentence him to death, without further delay.
Penpushing reports that Ogunnaike passed the verdict of death on himself during interview, having admitted his criminal activities which had led to number of his victims, maimed and butchered by him and his gang.
The suspect said whenever he is arraigned on the murder charge, the court should not waste time in sentencing him to death, just as he made a request that before his execution, he would want to be given food to eat.
‘I want to say this, and may sound funny to you, but that should be my portion. As soon as I am arraigned, the court should not waste time in sentencing me to death, but I want to also plead that before I am killed, I want to eat good food, the authorities should please let me eat before final death’, he said
Penpushing further reports that the suspect who as at the time of filing this report was still undergoing investigation at the police headquarters, Eleweran, Abeokuta, called on the police to track down other members of his gang, currently on the run.
‘I want the police to track down my colleagues still on the run, some of them even belong to secret cult, which eventually led me to where I found myself now, as I said let the government kill me and waste no time, but give me food first’ he emphasized
The alleged killer who was arrested by the police and took them to the shallow grave he buried her last victim, a 21- year-old girl in Asero area of Abeokuta, said he was brought up in Ifeoluwa/ Feyintolorun area of Idiya, Rounder axis of the town
Penpushing also reports that he said he is an indigene of Ijebu-Ayepe, while his late father was a shepherd of Celestial Church and on completion of his primary education he learned trade of motorcycle repair, confessing that he ventured into crime in 2020 through a friend who lured him into Eiye secret cult
The sources, however, revealed that Ogunnaike engaged in armed robbery sometime in 2020, which landed him in prison, and during his trial at court in Isabo area of Abeokuta, he escaped from the premises, while he was subsequently placed on wanted list of the court before the recent arrest.
Penpushing reports that some of the crimes linked Ogunnaike with include raping and killing of a 12-year-old girl in the Ifeoluwa/Feyintolorun area of Idiya, killing of a 23-year-old nurse identified as Abigael in Itori community and equally collected N50,000 ransom from the parents
The suspect in the same vein, was said to be involved in killing of 21-Yyear-old girl, identified as Mary in Asero area of the town, collected her mobile phone, and subsequently collected N17,000 ransom from the family.
Penpushing further reports that alleged serial killer extended his operations to Obasa area of Mile 6, in Ajegunle farm settlement, where he murdered 17-year-old Abibat Akinsanya, a student of Lisabi Grammar School, Abeokuta.
The suspect after number of these operations ran to Saki in Oyo State, and later returned to Abeokuta, to continue the criminal act, while on his way back met a lady in a commercial vehicle, who she lured under the guise of delivering spiritual message to her, but succeeded in collecting her phone
