
Minister Tuggar meets China government over agricultural investment collaboration
The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Maitama Tuggar has met with the Governor of Hunan Province, Mao Weiming, in Changsha, China, for high-level discussions aimed at deepening collaboration between Nigeria and Hunan Province at both federal and sub-national levels.
Penpushing reports that the Minister conveyed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s deep commitment to agriculture and food security as pillars of Nigeria’s national stability, while the key areas for mutual cooperation, including seed technology improvement, agricultural processing, and enhanced provision of agricultural machinery.
The meeting, a bid to strengthen collaboration between Nigeria and China, also explored opportunities for Chinese investment in Nigeria’s agricultural value chain and industrial sectors, positioning Nigeria as a strategic gateway to the broader African market.
