MILITARY ANNOUNCES TWO-YEAR RULE IN SUDAN BEFORE NEW DEMOCRATIC GOVERNMENT

The Minister was quoted in in a televised address as saying, “I announce as Minister of Defence the toppling of the regime and detaining its chief in a secure place,”, adding that he will lead the newly-inaugurated Supreme Military  Council.

Penpushing further reports that, Ibn Auf declared that Sudan’s airspace would be shut for 24 hours, while border crossings would be closed indefinitely. It is also recalled that, Al-Bashir was sacked from office having spent over thirty years as the country ruler.

The removal  followed five days of massive protests across the country, a development the protesters initially hailed the military but sources said the suspension of the constitution in place of a military rule for at least another two years could further plunge the country into chaos.
