MEDIA REMAINS UNIQUE STAKEHOLDER IN ELECTORAL PROCESS OF NATIONS, SAYS NUJ PRESIDENT

The President pointed out that, the gathering of journalists across the country for the forum was to serve as a post-mortem on the just concluded 2019 general elections, adding that he was optimistic that, more knowledge would be acquired by the participants and the organisers.

‘Media is unique stakeholder if election must be successful, and therefore we must not leave it in hands of politicians. We should also be partner with other relevant agencies. I want to assure you that NUJ will sustain its credibility in election coverage’,Isiguzo said.

The union boss called on politicians to always exhibit sportsmanship in elections, stating that in all elections, there must be winners and losers, and therefore, ’losers should accept defeat gallantly, while winners should also be magnanimous’

Penpushing also reports that, Isugizo affirmed that the accessibility of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), before, during and after elections was a pass mark for the electoral body, adding that the commission was up and doing throughout the electoral process
