Mechanic allegedly knocks out customer’s tooth over N7, 000

A 27-year-old auto mechanic, Michael Adeniyi, who allegedly beat up and knocked out tooth of a customer over argument on N7, 000 has been arraigned before an Ikeja Magistrates’ Court sitting in Lagos State

Penpushing reports that, the prosecution counsel, Raji Akeem told the court that the defendant who resides in Agege, Lagos, committed the offence on January 4 at  Oyemekun Street, Pen Cinema, Agege area of the town.

The prosecutor said the complainant, Salau Adebayo, gave his tricycle to the defendant to repair and he charged N7, 000 for workmanship, adding that the complainant gave the defendant the money and he asked him to return in two days for his tricycle.

Penpushing further reports that, the prosecutor said after two days, the complainant returned to the defendant’s shop and discovered that the defendant did not do anything on the tricycle, hence, an argument broke out between  the duo and the defendant beat him up, removing a tooth in the process.

The prosecutor in the charge sheet said the defendant obtained money under false pretences and causing grievous harm, but the defendant in response, however pleaded not guilty to the charge.

Penpushing also reports that, the Magistrate, O.I. Adelaja, admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N50, 000 with two sureties in like sum and adjourned the case until March 31 for mention.
