Man with firearm, ammunition arrested in Enugu state
The Enugu State Police Command in collaboration with Neighbourhood Watch Group have arrested a 21-year-old suspect Sunday Chukwu, while perfecting plans with his cohorts to use the recovered items to perpetrate their criminal intentions this festive season.
Penpushing reports that the Command Police Public Relations Officer, Daniel Ndukwe in a statement said recovered items during surveillance and patrol operation on Christmas Eve include one locally-fabricated pistol with one live cartridge
The statement added that the suspect was arrested for alleged unlawful possession of a firearm and ammunition, adding that as at the time of filing this report his cohorts were at large, with assurance that they would be arrested in dur course
“This shows that the Enugu State Police Command’s 2022 Yuletide Security and Safety Plan have started yielding fruits in the positive direction. However, operational, investigation and intelligence gathering activities geared towards actualising maximum security and safety in the state have been intensified’, he said.
